Electronic technologies and means of communication have become part of the material basis used in justice. In the implementation of the automated system «Justice» thousands of employees and informatization objects are involved; it formed a layer of procedural relations, requiring scientific definition and legislative regulation. The author draws attention to the fact that the development of informatization of the judicial system should not violate the established basic elements of the judicial system, such as judicial negotiation and intellectual activity of a judge. At the same time, a complete refusal to use information technology is seen as wrong idea, the latest developments should be implemented, and at the same time be correlated with the Strategy of the Information Society Development in the Russian Federation for 2017–2030. The author gives excisting terms of electronic justice and acts of legislation governing its development, the basic directions of the development of the digital economy, the main provisions of the Strategy and other regulatory acts, procedural concepts applicable in electronic justice. The article also addresses the use of audio record, which becomes mandatory procedural electronic document of civil procedure. All actions performed with electronic documents should be legislatively regulated taking into account the fundamental principles of the judicial system, legitimacy, competitiveness of the parties and protection of information from unauthorized access.
