The article examines modern trends in the use of video conferencing systems and web
conferences in the process of considering civil cases by courts of general jurisdiction and
arbitration courts in the context of issues of identifying the participants and ensuring the
protection of their personal data. A conclusion is made about the impact of digitalization
on the overall dynamics of improving the level of judicial protection in the digital economy,
and trends in the use of video conferencing systems and web conferences in the process
of administering justice are predicted. In the process of analyzing video conferencing
technologies, it was established that there is no unified legal regulation of the use of
video conferencing technologies with the participation of a court of general jurisdiction
and an arbitration court. In addition, the need to unify the process of establishing
the identity of a person participating in a case using video conferencing technology,
which is currently differentially regulated within the framework of civil procedure and
administrative procedure, is substantiated. Based on the results of the analysis of the
identification procedures for the participants in the process participating in the case using
video conferencing technologies and web conferences, it is substantiated that when the
Pravosudie-Online super service is introduced, user identification can be made on the basis
of a personal account in the Unified identification and authentication system, confirmed
in the prescribed manner, which does not conflict with the current legal regulation.

Keywords: video conferencing; web conferencing; biometric identification of the participants
in the process; components of the electronic justice system; remote participation in court
proceedings; unified procedure for confirming the identity of a person participating in a case.
