MODERN APPROACHES AND PEDAGOGICAL HERITAGE

In this article, the author compares the pedagogical ideas of D.I. Meyer with the tasks of
modern legal education. It has been revealed that the most significant for modernity are:
the practical component in the teaching of legal disciplines, the practical orientation and
project orientation of education, the functioning of legal clinics, the role of a teacher in
acquiring students both law enforcement and law-making skills, as well as anti-corruption
examination. The relevance of the social significance of legal practice in connection with
the specific realities of life is highlighted. The article notes that the idea of D.I. Meyer about
the communicative function of legal education was widely developed in legal clinics, in the
process of training, and various kinds of scientific and practical events, both Russian and
international. At the same time, the special role of science in the process of studying under
the master’s programs is emphasized in connection with the requirements of the Russian
Federal State Educational Standard in terms of the need to obtain an understanding of
scientific knowledge and its use in the course of research work. In conclusions, the author
relies on the practice of the Saratov State Law Academy.
