Characteristic features of such forms of alternative settlement of disputes as conciliatory
procedures and the settlement agreement in relation to the sphere of ecological legal
relationship are analyzed in the article. As the authors emphasize, many problem aspects of
application of conciliatory procedures and the conclusions of the settlement agreement in the
field of ecology remain not resolved. It creates difficulties in practical activities including for
participants of disputable ecological legal relationship. For example, the issue of a possibility
of use of the considered ways at settlement of the ecological disputes arising in the sphere
of civil legal relationship requires attention. In this regard the relevance of the matter does
not raise doubts. A research objective is identification of features of settlement of ecological
disputes by means of use of conciliatory procedures or the conclusion of the settlement
agreement. Comprehensive and complex theoretic-practical study of the specified subject
was carried out at application general scientific (logical (induction, deduction, the analysis
and synthesis), system and functional) and private-law (historical and legal, legallistic,
comparative and legal) methods. On the basis of the conducted research the authors note that
the conclusion of settlement agreements with the subject – the carrier of private interest in
the sphere of ensuring normal ecological activity of citizens and societies in general is quite
possible. Due to the received results of scientific work the authors come to a conclusion the
need of the subsequent studying of the expressed perspective in legal space taking into account
their further legal regulation and formation of positive law-enforcement experience.
